Group 4 Project Presentation

科学学科组的专题口头报告


The Group 4 Project is a collaboration between subjects within the sciences. Students of physics and chemistry worked together on the chosen theme for the project: air. The final outcome of the project was to create a presentation. The audience for the presentation was kindly supplied by both classes of year 10 students. 

11年级第4学科组的专题作业是科学学科之间的跨学科的研究。选修物理和化学学科的学生一起合作,选择一个共同涉及的题目“空气”进行研究,专题作业最终以口头表达的形式展示研究成果。10年级的全体同学和任课教师作为观众,参与到了本次意义非凡的活动中。


The projects were experimental. Students spent the first hours planning their experiment and then went to the laboratories to complete it. This is a difficult skill in itself, especially when attempting to draw two branches of science together at the same time.

本次学科合作研究是开展一个实验项目。学生在经过数小时的讨论并指定实验计划,然后在实验室里去完成既定的实验,并验证学生先前的一系列假设。这本身是一项极具挑战性的任务,特别是同时需要综合物理和化学这两门学科的知识,进行整合创造。


The presentations themselves were fun, entertaining and interesting. All of them brought together elements from Chemistry and Physics. The chosen topics ranged from environmental concerns for the level of carbon dioxide in Earth’s atmosphere to the dangers of popping candy. In fact, the presentation concerning popping candy incited the most questions from a concerned audience of year 10 students.
学生们把化学和物理元素结合在一起,因此,口头表达展示成果的过程妙趣横生。选题范围小至跳跳糖的危险性,大到二氧化碳的含量对地球环境的影响。实际上,这个关于跳跳糖的安全性问题是受到一名作为听众的10年级学生的启发。


The process was extremely rewarding for all involved. Once again the students gained experience with the methods of scientific research. The audience were also given an insight in what they must do next year come this time when they will have to complete their own group 4 projects.
这样一个学科间的合作研究项目使得所有参与的学生获益良多。11年级学生们又一次体验了科学研究的方法,使他们再次领略了科学研究的独特魅力。而聆听学长们的专题口头报告也将帮助10年级的学生为来年的跨学科合作做好充分的准备。
