Unit - Animals and Us

Designing a brochure to“Save the X”.

Students researched the Worldwildlife website and other websites to select an animal which they considered endangered or in need of “saving”. They worked in groups to find and select the information they wanted, identified the causes of the problem, and besides presenting existing measures to address the issue, also came up with some of their own solutions and recommendations. One group selected the  Siberian tiger, another the dolphin, and last group chose the wild lama. The text was relevant and informative, and the accompanying graphics were impressive. Students developed the ATL skills of research, social interaction, thinking and communication. They also presented the content of their brochures orally to the rest of the class.

设计一个关于“保护(某种)动物”的小册子

学生通过世界野生动物等网站选择一种濒危或者需要保护的动物。以小组为单位研究调查所选择的动物濒危的原因,现有的保护措施以及新的解决方法和建议。三组同学分别选择了东北虎、海豚和羊驼。同学们设计的小册子中的文字恰当准确,配图也令人印象深刻。在此次课程活动中,学生的研究能力、社交能力、思考能力和沟通能力得到了培养,同时他们也锻炼了如何将文本内容以口头形式呈现。
